So she wrote a story, "very well-put together, about a summer job dressed in costume at a theme park. She showed me the park through the eyes of a giant cartoon character, and did it so powerfully and so well. That summer taught her that, when a child gives you a hug, you let them decide when it's time to let go," she says. "It was very sweet and very observant.
